Linen cloth was woven of flax fiber in many grades and weaves. Used in every aspect of living from clothing, to household needs to furnishings to the shroud made for the corpse, linen was so common that a tax was proposed as a source of easy revenue on the coarser sorts being imported into the US towards the end of the 18th century. Unbleached or "brown" linen finds its way into all levels of society from clothing to linings to household needs.

  • Our linen is medium weight with a smooth tight weave and suitable for lower class shirts & shifts, aprons, children's clothing, petticoats, jackets, bedgowns and gowns of the meanest sort, waistcoats, summer trousers, linings, accessories, as well as household needs.
  • 100% Irish Linen 58 inches wide.
