Plush was a soft faced wool, much like velvet, dyed in all manner of colors and was a popular choice for breeches, waistcoats and winter jackets. Worn by all social classes, it is documented in tailors account books, runaway accounts and in orders for livery, reds, buffs & blues being the most common.  Plushes called by other names could be found in later period garments especially in outerwear.

  • Our wool is heavy enough for outerwear but soft enough for winter breeches, lady's capes, winter mitts, jackets and winter waistcoats.
