Wool "Flannels" consisted of a woolen yarn slightly twisted in the spinning and woven in plain or twill weave. This created a soft, spongy wool, not extremely sturdy but useful for a variety of purposes such as skirts, dresses, men's & ladies jackets and trousers, light weight outer wear, etc. When fulled, flannel would become very lofty creating a soft but thick fabric.
The 2.75 yard piece is considered seconds because there are sections where the selvedge has been damaged. The price has been reduced to reflect this defect.
Swatches of this fabric are no longer available since we have fewer than 20 yards remaining.
