Dark Grey Cotton Twill
Cotton was a primary export of North America, and was the foundation of America’s short lived textile industry. Innovations in processing and spinning, suitable climate and soil led to large holdings of land given over to cotton production, which was made possible by the labors of enslaved individuals.
Cotton twill, such as our Dark Grey Cotton Twill, shows up as coverings for early 19thc corsets. It is also found in linings, pocket baggings, as well as in clothing of the 19thc onward.
