Wool Tape, such as this Off-White Worsted Wool Twill Tape was used extensively in the 18th century.  It was found on petticoat & gown hems, wallets, jackets, Regimental coats, Indigenous American and First Nation garments, bed hangings and slipcovers.  Hats were bound in it and garments closed with it. 

18th century & the 19th century examples.

  • A wool and synthetic blend for strength.
  • If you wish to dye this tape we suggest you use "disperse dye" applied at an increased heat of 115 degrees to soften the yarn and allow the dye to disperse evenly.
