3 Purples Medallion Printed Handkerchief

( / )

This wonderful handkerchief is reproduced from the Susan W. Greene collection from Genesee Country Village & Museum.  Dating from 1790-1820 its pattern is one that we have found in a variety of collections with its sprigged ground, central medallion and corner medallions.  Purple, a popular color of the 18th and early 19th century, was often printed in two or three shades with great attention given to detail through its shading.

  • Measuring approximately 36 inches square our handkerchiefs are made of hand loomed sheer cotton mull, hand printed, and hand finished.
