Seamed Super Stretch Wool Stockings

( / )

Stockings of the 18th century, such as our Seamed Super Stretch Wool Stockings, were produced by the “putting out” domestic system.  Much like weavers with their looms, stocking knitters had flat mechanical frames for knitting stockings that were sewn together to create seams which ran up the back of the leg.

These Seamed Super Stretch Wool Stockings have a woven “seam” to simulate those found in original stockings. They have been manufactured with some synthetic to allow enough stretch to fit most calf sizes.
