Navy Worsted Wool Lasting
Lasting was a twilled cloth with a worsted warp and woolen weft, that was lighter and higher-quality than kersey. Many qualities were woven and used for a variety of applications, ranging from bedding to linings and outer garments. One coarse "sarge" in the Foundling collection was used as a baby blanket, while finer Norwich Lastings were frequently made into men's suits.
