"An Agreeable Tyrant" Fashion After the Revolution

( / )

An Agreeable Tyrant is a lavishly illustrated catalog that has been published in conjunction with the Exhibit of the same name. Superb photography of many of the garments on display along with a large assembly of portraits and fashion plates of the period tell the story of fashion following the Revolutionary War.  In addition to the extensive catalog entries, there are five essays by leading experts in the field, a selected bibliography for further reference, and over twenty scaled patterns of men’s and women’s garments seen in the exhibit.  A must have for your costume library!
