Three styles of Tudor/Elizabethan bodies or corsets (also called “stays”)  This pattern is appropriate for 16th/early 17th century impressions. With full instructions for choosing materials, sizing and constructing garments. Perfect for anyone interested in making and wearing historical clothing.

Based on two extant examples:
  • 1598 - Bayerisches Nationalmuseum,
Munich, bodies belonging to Dorothea Sabina von Neuberg
  • 1603 - Westminster Abbey, London, bodies for an effigy of Queen Elizabeth I
  • circa 1600 - Boughton House, Northamptonshire, portrait of Elizabeth Vernon

This pattern is available in two size groups.:

  • Smaller Sizes: 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 
  • Larger Sizes: 18, 20, 22, 24, 26
